Chain snatched in Porvorim

SALIGAO: Two unknown robbers snatched a mangalsutra worth Rs 90,000 from an elderly woman in the Housing Board Colony at Porvorim on Saturday.

Lalita Naik (73) of HBC filed a complaint with Porvorim Police stating that she was returning home after buying milk from a shop at around 10.20 am when some unknown persons came from behind on a motorcycle and snatched her mangalsutra and fled away.

The incident happened near IFA pharmacy. The lady could not note down the registration number of the motorcycle.

Porvorim Police has registered the complaint against unknown persons under Sections 356, 379, 323 read with 34 of IPC and PSI Viju Dessai is investigating the case.
