The teacher, identified as Pradnya Prabhu was riding her two wheeler when she came under the wheels of the tanker as it overtook her while proceeding to Miramar.
The Panaji police have booked a case against the driver of the truck, Ganesh Marathe a resident of Colvale, under sections 279 and 304A of the Indian Penal Code and 134B of the Motor Vehicle Act. The teacher was shifted to Goa Medical College in a police van without waiting for an ambulance to arrive, however she expired on the way to the hospital.
Police officials have said that Prabhu was working as a teacher in a Government Primary School at Dona Paula and was a resident of NIO colony in Dona Paula.
