The first Chandrakant Keni memorial journalist award will be conferred on veteran journalist Suresh Walve for carrying forward the 'Goenkaarvadi' legacy of late Keni.
This award will be presented on November 26, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Keni. Noted industrialist Shrinivas Dempo will present the award.
Walve who is well known for pro-Goan editorials has taken his initial lessons of journalism under the able guidance of late Chandrakant Keni, in Daily Rashtramat, and later carried forward the legacy of his guru through Daily Navprabha with the same dream.
The award ceremony function will be held at Margao Municipal hall at 4.30 pm.
Noted Konkani activist Adv Uday Bhembre will deliver the keynote address on the occasion. Noted writer Datta Damodar Naik, Journalist Raju Nayak and Pramod Acharya will also be present for the ceremony.
