Cheating plaint filed

PANAJI: The Cybercrime police station of Goa Police, on Friday, registered offence against unknown persons under Section 66 of IT Act for using an email id [email protected] and for using the WhatsApp application on a mobile number to cheat the complainant through computer resource.

The complainant stated that promises of false marriage were made and money was borrowed to the tune of Rs 8.70 lakh. The complainant was made to deposit the money in various bank accounts.

PI cybercrime Rajesh Job is investigating the case further.
