Social worker Tulsidas Fal Dessai on Thursday distributed fruit-bearing saplings to doctors, nurses and staff at Chicalim District Hospital as part of an initiative to promote environmental conservation and public health. Chicalim Panchayat members and local residents attended the programme.
The drive aimed to encourage tree planting and highlight the role hospitals can play in creating a cleaner, greener and healthier environment. Fruit-bearing saplings were chosen for their long-term benefits, including increasing green cover, supporting biodiversity and providing nutritious fruits.
Tulsidas Fal Dessai said protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and urged hospital staff to care for the saplings.
