The Chinchinim gram sabha on Sunday have resolved to demand minimum motorable road access to every house to ensure that each and every person get basic facilities of ambulance and fire brigade in times of emergencies.
At the gram sabha meeting chaired by Sarpanch Valentino Barretto, the gram sabha members pointed out there are so many houses which still lack basic road access even for an ambulance and fire brigade to attend in times of exigencies.
The Sarpanch informed that the resolution will be forwarded to the Revenue department of the government for consideration.
The gram sabha discussed a host of issues, including garbage and waste collection. The Sarpanch informed that the Panchayat had collected around 250 tons of dry waste and 75 tons of diapers over the last several months.
The panchayat won accolades for attending to waste dumping at the dark spots and to install CCTV surveillance cameras along the Deussua bypass road, which has become a favourite waste dumping destination for unscrupulous elements.
While approving the budget estimates for the financial year 2024-25, the panchayat has made provision for land acquisition to set up a vending zone in the village.
The gram sabha also resolved to ask the PWD to de-notify the Dandeavaddo-Church road as a MDR Road.
The gram sabha also discussed the issue of the request by farmers from Sucaldem to provide motorable access to carry mechanized machinery and equipment to their fields to revive the fallow lands. The Panchayat has agreed to work out a solution on condition that the road access to be strictly used for the purpose of agriculture.
