Chinese co seeks land for 3D printing park

A Chinese company called Shenzhen SanTongTeFa Technology Co Ltd is seeking 80-100 acres of land in Goa to set up a 3D printing park. This was informed by Paul Cho Kwai Shun, who is chairman of Sino India Trade & Culture Promotion Council.
The scale of this 3D printing park can be understood from the fact that the proposed information technology (IT) park at Chimbel will be spread across 100 acres of land, while the proposed electronics cluster at Tuem will require 124 acres of land.
Kwai Shun said, “We are in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government regarding 3D printing park. We have already met the IT secretary, Ameya Abhyankar. We are going to meet the chief minister, Laxmikant Parsekar, on October 15 to discuss the same.”
Meanwhile, a delegation of 15 chief executive officers (CEOs) of top Chinese companies is expected soon in Goa to attend the BRICS Summit between October 15 and 16. Top officials from Shenzhen SanTongTeFa Technology Co will be part of this delegation.
Kwai Shun further added, “This 3D printing park will bring in an investment of close to Rs 2,000 crore to Goa over five years. Besides, it will also create 200,000 jobs.”
Kwai Shun had brought a delegation of three representatives from Chinese companies at World Trade Centre (WTC), Goa’s office. The Chinese delegation met up with a number of businessmen from Goa. Among present were Manguirish Pai Raiker, advisor to WTC Goa and Anil Counto from Alcon - Anil Counto Enterprises.
3D printing is a revolutionary modern-day technology, wherein a virtual design of a product is created first and later using the virtual design the actual product is manufactured.
Kwai Shun said, “We have technology and finance to set up a 3D printing park in Goa. We need land and approvals from the state government.”
He further said that products from the park will be partly sold in India and partly exported to other countries.
