Christians belonging to different denominations on Monday evening offered prayers for the victims of the April 22 Pahalgam attacks.
They also took out a silent procession from Methodist Church to Rani Chenamma Circle. Fr Philip Kutty, Fr Pramod Kumar, Fr Johnny, Rev Cherian, Adv Ramesh Madhurao, Chillal and other pastors took part in the prayers and silent march.
Offering prayers for the souls of the deceased, the Christians also condemned the act of terrorism as inhuman and urged the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to initiate stringent action against the terrorists who were involved in the attacks.
A candlelight prayer was also offered at the Rani Chenamma Circle, where Christian leaders also condemned the act of terrorism while offering condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and expressed solidarity with the people of the nation.
Christians comprising priests, nuns, men, women and children took part in the prayers and procession. A memorandum was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
