CJP has more value than Congress: Vijai

CANACONA

Stating that electors are not anybody’s ‘fiefdom’, Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai claimed that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has more value than the Congress and can get even more votes than the Congress.

Commenting on a pre-poll alliance while interacting with reporters after a GFP convention at Canacona on Friday night, Sardessai said: “The amount of votes they (Congress) claim to have, we (GFP) too can also have that many votes.”

“Not only an alliance, I had even told them I am ready to merge GFP with Congress to defeat BJP. I have been talking about this for the last two years, but no result came. That is not the position now.”

“We also feel that it will become easy to defeat BJP if an alliance is made, and we are still going to explore it. We will not accept any conditions that only certain person will be CM, etc. We won’t accept arm-twisting tactics, but we will do what we are required to do to achieve our goal.”

“Congress leaders feels Goan electors are mad and can be fooled easily, and they (electors) will vote blindly for Congress. It's not like that any more. Under the present circumstances, the CJP can get more votes but not the Congress. This is the real position now. Cockroach party has more value than Congress.”
