CLC inaugurated in Vasco to boost women entrepreneurs

A City Livelihood Centre (CLC) to provide employment opportunities to Self Help Groups and give them a platform to sell their sell homemade and eco-friendly products under one roof was inaugurated in Vasco.

The CLC, developed by the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) in association with the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), was inaugurated on Tuesday morning at the MMC building by Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho, in the presence of Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, MMC Chairperson Girish Borker, and other dignitaries.

Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, Godinho commended the initiative and said, “Women who make homemade items will now have a place to sell their products. I congratulate MMC and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar for this initiative which will help women engaged in small businesses,” said Godinho.

Thanking the MMC for offering space for the CLC, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said: “The CLC will not only provide employment to women and SHGs but also offer clean, homemade products to Vascokars.”

MMC Chairperson Girish Borker said the initiative was a step towards empowering women and promoting small-scale entrepreneurship.
