Closure of liquor outlets

In view of the by-elections to 3 vacant wards of 2 different village panchayats, all licensed premises for the sale of liquor in Ward I of Chicalim and Ward IV of Cansaulim-Arossim-Cuelim in Mormugao taluka and Ward I in Uguem in Sanguem taluka, will remain closed from December 12 to 14.

The licensed premises having licence for bar and restaurant may be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only. However, the bar counter should be closed and no liquor should be allowed to serve on the said days. The owners of the licence premises having bar and restaurant should also display a board in the premises that no liquor will be served and that the restaurant will be open for serving food only.

Raj Bhavan gardens open on Dec 19 PANAJI: The façade of Raj Bhavan and the gardens will be illuminated on December 19, on Goa Liberation Day. The citizens are invited to come and see the illumination from 7.15 pm to 9 pm on the same day. Entry into the buildings is however not allowed. For security reasons, citizens are requested not to bring handbags, briefcases, cameras, digital diary or any arms and ammunition.
