Stating that his visit to Delhi was only to introduce the newly joined MLAs with BJP party leaders and to discuss both Lok Sabha seats, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant denied there would be any change in portfolios of ministers.
Sawant was speaking to reporters at Dabolim airport after he along with BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade and other MLAs arrived from New Delhi in the wee hours of Tuesday.
“We had gone with the new MLAs to meet our party national president J P Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah and we discussed ways to take forward works of the party,” said Sawant.
“We also had discussions on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections because we want to win both the seats this time around. We have not decided on any change in portfolios as of now and I cannot commit any thing as of now.”
Tanavade said they were advised to work together to strengthen the party in Goa, while also strengthening each constituency as well.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi was busy and we could not meet him. There are no plans of a reshuffle in the portfolios," said Tanavade.
Tanavade said there was no scope of him being angry over the entry of the eight congress MLAs.
"There is no question of me being angry at the entry of the eight Congress MLAs because I am the State party president who has to give them entry into the BJP party. We have also started meetings in some constituencies to tackle issues faced by BJP karyakartas with the entry of Congress MLAs," said Tanavade.
