Stating that it was high time for like-minded forces to join hands, Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira on Tuesday said if Goa Forward Party merges into the Congress, then the grand old party will be “strengthened”.
“Vijai Sardesai is originally a Congressman and a firebrand leader, who is now holding the reins of the Goa Forward Party. We are in alliance with Vijai. There is an ideological like-mindedness between us. He is a leader in his own right and I have known him since his student leader days. We will be strengthened if he joins us. It is time for all forces to realign to defeat the forces that are trampling upon the constitution and trying to make democracy redundant,” Ferreira said, while speaking to journalists.
