CANACONA
Parsekar was responding to requests by Parents Teachers Council (PTC) president, Anil V Sawant Dessai for financial assistance for better facilities to the school. Dessai said that although JNV is a centrally-funded residential school and has a vast campus, the school lacks a proper meeting hall, illumination of the campus and a vehicle. In the presence of JNV principal, S Kannan, Dessai presented a memorandum mentioning a charter of demands for the benefit of the Vidyalaya students. Parsekar said though Navodaya Vidyalaya is central HRD institute, it has enrollment of Goan students and it became his responsibility to provide the best to the children. “We will try to meet and overcome most of the shortcomings at JNV-Canacona through CSR of some major PSUs and other companies in the State,” Parsekar added.
