MARGAO
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured residents of Comba-Margao that he would call a meeting of PWD, sewerage officials to take stock of the ground reality in the locality, which has been hit by sewerage problems.
The Chief Minister visited the area and interacted with the people of Comba upon an invitation by party leader Sharmad Raiturkar and ward councillor Ketan Kurtarkar, who impressed upon Parrikar to work out a scheme for Comba to resolve the outstanding sewerage issues plaguing the locality.
The Chief Minister sought details from a PWD official at the site over the replacement of the dilapidated sewerage line, where even the sewage chambers have collapsed, as a result of sewage water flows back in the bathrooms and washrooms of local residents.
“I have called a meeting of the officials and the residents of Comba on Tuesday. I will get a clear picture at the meeting how to go about in replacing the dilapidated underground line,” he said.
Sharmad Raiturkar later told the media that he along with the residents of Comba have been waging a battle for the replacement of the damaged underground sewerage line for a long time now, adding that they have impressed upon the Chief Minister to take stock of the ground reality before undertaking work on the line.
