CM calls Oppn MLAs for talks on funds

Parrikar convenes meet on Dec 16

PANAJI
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has convened a meeting of all 16 Opposition MLAs on December 16 at 3 am at the Legislative Assembly complex, Porvorim to discuss their requirements for developmental funds and projects to be taken up utilizing these funds in their respective constituencies.
Speaking to The Goan, Leader of Opposition Chandrakant "Babu" Kavalekar said, "The CM invited me in his office for a quick meeting and informed me about his decision to convene a meeting of all Opposition MLAs on December 16 to deliberate on the developmental grants for our constituencies."
It may be recalled that in November, CM chaired a meeting of ministers and MLAs from the ruling coalition in which he assured them that pending infrastructure projects up to Rs 25 crore will be given priority.
Despite CM's announcement that he will convene a similar meeting with Opposition MLAs, Congress had criticised him for drawing a line of differentiation and for dividing the State between constituencies represented by the ruling and Oppn MLAs over the development agenda.
