CM denies signing MoU on coal in Russia

Insisting that he had not signed any MoU between Russia and  Goa on coal, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the Goa delegation had  fruitful discussions on tourism with Russia and looked forward to  boosting Goa’s tourism sector with large number of Russian tourists  arriving in the State.  

Speaking to reporters at Dabolim Airport on Tuesday night following  his return from the Russian tour, Sawant said there had been “several  discussions on business aspects between Goa 

and Russia.  

Asked about reports of Goa signing an MoU with Russia on coal,  Sawant shot back: “Who has informed about an MoU between Goa and Russia  on coal? We have not signed any such MoU.”  

“We have been a part of a delegation that was under the Central  government. I want to clarify that no such MoU has been signed regarding  coal and I also appeal that people must not worry about any such  thing.”
