The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Governor Mridula Sinha and Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão have extended greetings on the occasion Eid-ul-Fitr.  

The Chief Minister in his message has said, “the auspicious festival of Eid Ul Fitr which is being celebrated particularly by the Muslim brethren marks the end of Ramadan fasting”.   

The Chief Minister has said may this festival bring in greater joy and happiness coupled with consolidation of the bonds of unity, fraternity and brotherhood.   

Goa Governor Mridula Sinha said, “in a diverse country like ours, it is essential for all of us to promote and maintain inter-religious understanding and co-existence among the different sections of society. Let us, therefore, on this auspicious occasion of Id- ul-fitr, draw inspiration from the eternal message of the Prophet, and practice it in the best interest of social harmony, national unity and integrity.”  

Archbishop Ferrão said, “We unite ourselves to our muslim brothers and sisters on this festive occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, as they pray for God’s forgiveness, mercy, peace and blessings for all living beings across the world and specially our country. We extend our hands in solidarity with them, to promote genuine justice, lived in friendship with God, the source of all human relationship: with others and with the whole creation. Last, but not the least, we pray to God that this celebration may spread joy to all, specially to the less fortunate and needy. Eid Mubarak!”
