Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated Synergistic Training program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI) workshop organised by BITS Pilani Goa in collaboration with Shivaji University, Kolhapur and supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India on Monday in the presence of Prof Suman Kundu, director, BITS Pilani, Prof R G Sonkawade, Shivaji University, Kolhapur along with convener, Prof Meenal Kowshik and co-convener, Prof Sunil Bhand.
The workshop is being attended by around 50 participants including faculty members, PhD scholars, post-graduate and undergraduate students who are actively involved in the field of basic or allied sciences or engineering from Goa and other states.
Dr Sawant congratulated BITS Pilani for organising this workshop and making sophisticated equipment available to researchers in Goa as well as outside Goa and invited BITS Pilani to collaborate with the government for optimising the output of the education sector for enhancing the use of the technology in the good governance initiatives. He also visited the two labs, central sophisticated instrumentation facility and BITS BIRAC BioNEST incubator and appreciated the research work.
