CM inaugurates Rs 13-Crore Aparant Surakshita Bhavan; announces Occupational Safety Course

PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday inaugurated the new Rs 13-crore Aparant Surakshita Bhavan, the office building of the Factories and Boilers Department, at Altinho, Panaji with a focus on creating better infrastructure and strengthening support systems for industries.


Addressing the gathering, CM said that over the last five years, the government has renovated several old government buildings while also creating modern infrastructure. “The new building has been developed on the concept of a green building with solar power facilities and expressed hope that it would encourage industrialists to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly practices,” said CM 


CM stressed the need for regular human resource training and said HR managers, supervisors and other personnel would undergo periodic training. He added that more than 16,000 workers, supervisors, students and industrial safety professionals would be trained, while over 25,000 people would receive safety training.


He also announced that the third-party boiler inspection process for industries has been completed and that all boiler inspection certificates will now be issued within 48 hours, further improving the ease of doing business in Goa.


CM further announced that a new Occupational Safety Course will be introduced for doctors after they complete their MBBS. “There is a growing demand for medical professionals trained in occupational safety in the industrial sector, with doctors from neighbouring states already coming to Goa to pursue such specialised training,” said CM
