Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has hailed Goa University for being ranked 20th among 100 universities in the country saying it is Goa’s only university and the government always supported it.

He said even though Goa is a small State, our govt has made a budget provision of Rs 39.75 crore for Goa University for the current financial year.

Additionally, Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned under Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme, of which Rs 12 crore is the State share, he said.

275 priests, 13 bishops to meet at Old Goa

As many as 275 priests and 13 bishops from 131 dioceses from all over India will participate at the XIV National Conference of Diocesan Priests of India (CDPI), to be hosted by the Archdiocese of Goa for the first time from April 5 to 8.
