CM lends ears to grieving workers from Oppn areas

Meets Nearly 150 workers from 20 constituencies to establish connect

Aiming at regaining lost connect with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) electors in the State, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar met BJP workers, mainly from constituencies represented by Opposition MLAs, to understand their grievances and also resolve them.
Nearly 150 workers across 20 constituencies in the State met Parrikar with their grievances at State BJP headquarters in Panaji. During the three-hour long exercise held on Friday evening, Parrikar discussed developmental as well as personal grievances of the party workers.
Party workers from Shiroda, led by former Industries Minister and MLA Mahadev Naik requested the chief minister to immediately inaugurate the 10 MLD water treatment plant at Panchwadi which would solve water problem of Panchawadi as well as major parts of Shiroda. The former MLA also urged the chief minister to expedite the developmental works which were taken up during his last tenure as the MLA.
Sanguem workers led by former MLA Subhash Phaldesai, however, threatened to stop water supply from Selaulim dam if the water problems in Sanguem are not solved at the earliest.
Party workers from Quepem, which is represented by Opposition Leader Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, lamented about difficulty in getting priority letters for their works.
Sanvordem BJP workers led by former MLA Ganesh Gaonkar informed that chief minister has assured to taken up the work of ‘Sanskruti Bhavan' in Sacordem Panchayat area through Tribal Welfare funds. Additionally, they also informed the chief minister about the construction of internal roads of about six kilometres in Molem panchayat area.
Party workers in Poriem and Canacona appealed to chief minister to take up developmental works within their constituencies.
Priol BJP workers appealed to Parrikar to take up developmental works in the constituency including new panchayat building in Veling-Priol panchayat area, tourism project in Mangueshi and development of road works in Betki-Khandola and access roads of Gaundalim bridge. They also requested the chief minister to provide them with an indoor stadium in Marcel by acquiring Communidade land.
St Andre constituency workers discussed developmental works in three panchayats in their constituency. They requested upgradation of the panchayat ghar and the government primary school in Neura panchayat area and appealed to take up construction of community toilets in Siridao-Pale panchayat area. Nonetheless, they informed that the chief minister has assured to expedite the work on the underpass at the Siridao junction.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar said, "This is an exercise which has been started by the party this month. Already Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar, Health Minister and Union Minister for AYUSH have met party workers. Today CM met party workers from nearly 20 constituencies who had come with their minor issues like power and water problems. We are trying to resolve these issues immediately."
"We mainly spoke to workers from constituencies which are not represented by our MLAs," he said.
