Legal Metrology sleuths raid several businesses in Baina

The Legal Metrology Department headed by inspector Liladhar Kumbharjuvekar conducted surprise raids at several outlets and establishments at Baina on Friday.
Owners of several outlets and establishments were caught by surprise with the sudden visit of the Legal Metrology Department officials.
Speaking to the media, Legal Metrology Department inspector Liladhar Kumbharjuvekar informed that a total of five cases were booked in Baina.
"The Legal Metrology Department conducted inspection in Baina area an
d four cases of enforcement under Weights and Measures Rules have been registered. We have seized four weighing scales."
"We also seized electrical items like fans, water heaters and LED panels from a electrical shop under packaged commodity rule for not having details of the manufacturing company and date of manufacture on the package."
"One particular ration society scale had no stamping nor seal and any details of minimum and maximum weight on it. We have seized the weighing scale as of now," added Kumbharjuvekar.
