CM makes case for Rs 1000 cr to implement reforms

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday informed NITI Aayog that Goa is eligible for Rs 1000 crore special assistance for successful implementation of various reforms including One Nation One Ration Card system.

Sawant said that Goa is eligible for Rs 1000 crore special assistance for successful implementation of reforms like One Nation One Ration Card system, Ease of Doing Business, Strengthening of local bodies, reforms in ULB and reforms in power sector.

The Chief Minister urged the Aayog to consider the State for the special assistance. 

The CM also sought Center’s intervention in the Mhadei river diversion issue. He said that Mhadei is a very serious and sensitive issue and can have some serious problems. 

Sawant also reiterated support for the double-tracking of the railway line in the State.

57 new cases, no Covid deaths reported

PANAJINo Covid fatalities were recorded in the mortality bulletin of the Directorate of Health Services on Saturday while 57 new cases of the infection were detected from among the 1,719 samples tested in the last 24 hours.With this, the total confirmed cases have touched 54,523. Of these, 53,243 have recovered and 493 are presently active.The Covid victim count of the state stands at 787.
