Strengthening the BJP organisation in Goa ahead of the upcoming elections and reviewing the progress of BharatNet in the State were the main focus of a key meeting held in Delhi on Thursday.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, along with Goa BJP president Damu Naik, met BJP national president Nitin Nabin. Sawant also held detailed discussions with Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia on the status of BharatNet in Goa.
Speaking to the media later, Naik said the meeting focused on strengthening the party in the State and planning for the upcoming elections. He said the discussions were important for the party’s future roadmap. Sources said that several other party leaders were also present at the meeting. Sawant added that he stressed the need to complete BharatNet at the earliest to improve digital connectivity across Goa.
He said the Union Minister assured full support and cooperation to speed up the rollout, which would help improve digital infrastructure and access in the State.
