MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that BJP Vasco Legislator Carlos Almeida might have become anxious since the party was yet to finalize tickets and clear candidates for the Goa Assembly election.
The CM told waiting media persons outside the South Goa BJP district office on Tuesday evening that the BJP follows a process to give tickets to the candidates, which has already been set in motion.
“The process of shortlisting candidates has begun and the final list of candidates will be cleared by the party Parliamentary Board. This is an established procedure followed by the party,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP National President J P Nadda on Tuesday evening paid a visit to the BJP South Goa district office and discussed with party office bearers the election preparedness.
Party State President Sadanand Tanavade, Sawant, party leaders Narendra Sawaikar and Damu Naik, besides others, were present at the meeting with Nadda.
