The Chief Minister assured that the Goa government is ready to adopt the programme launched by SAKSHAM Goa.
SAKSHAM Goa secretary, Santosh Kamat, informed that CAMBA Goa will undertake a comprehensive disability survey and compile relevant data in this regard through various government departments such as Social Welfare, Health, as well as local panch members.
Kamat said they will seek the help of college students to obtain data as per the CAMBA Project. "We will make available this data to all departments such as Social Welfare, etc. This data will also enable the formulation of the ‘Disabled Identification Card' (DID) for which SAKSHAM Goa has also set a target of 100% registration.
Among the other programmes undertaken by SAKSHAM Goa include eye (cornea) donation awareness, ABRAR (Audio Book Reader And Recorder for blind students), Braille book production centre & library, low vision identification camps and squint correction camps, informed Kamat.
