Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured international delegates that their investment proposals will get speedy approvals from the government at the ongoing Vibrant Goa Summit.
Addressing the gathering, Sawant said, “I can assure our international delegates, who wish to invest in Goa, that your proposal will be cleared within 30 days. The Investment Promotion Board (IPB) is created to facilitate approvals from the government. The single-window system will ensure speedy processing of investment proposals.”
“We are looking forward to improve our performance in sectors such as hospitality, tourism, IT services and agriculture. The new export policy for the State is being prepared,” he continued.
CM further said that closure of mining has disturbed ancillary industries to an extent, but he expressed hope that a solution will be found very soon.
He said, “Closure of mining has disturbed the entire ecosystem of our industries like barge owners, logistics, truck owners as well as service providers. We are positive that a solution to this will be found very soon.”
Given that there are national and international delegates in the State for Vibrant Goa, CM explained to them several policy initiatives, which the government has taken in the recent years to make Goa an ideal investment destination.
Sawant said, “Goa’s IT Policy is aimed at providing time-bound approvals and incentives within 90 days and also to create 10,000 jobs for locals. Goa Start-Up Policy was launched to make the State one of the top start-up destinations in Asia Pacific.”
He further informed that the Start-up Policy has already received 85 applications and 53 start-ups are certified with the government. CM also informed the investors about the work on infrastructure, which is happening in the State.
He said, “The first phase of upcoming Mopa Airport is expected to get operational by September 2022.
The airport’s annual capacity will touch 30 million passengers after completion of fourth phase. The new bridge on Zuari river is expected to be completed by next year.”
