Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday distributed cheques to over 50 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.

“Many people approached me requesting help, and I requested Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for assistance. This event was organised to offer financial aid to over 50 beneficiaries," Amonkar told reporters.

He highlighted that the funds were not only meant for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations but also to support individuals who have suffered losses due to natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances.

"We have also included people whose houses were damaged, fishermen who had their nets and motors stolen, and others who have faced difficulties. Our initiative through the CM Relief Fund aims to bring some relief and happiness to their lives,” Amonkar added.
