CM remembers late Parrikar who hosted IFFI for first time in 2004

Welcoming the delegates and guests to 52nd IFFI, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant remembered former Union Defence Minister late Manohar Parrikar, who as chief minister of Goa, hosted IFFI in Goa for the first time in 2004, following which for the last 17 years, IFFI is being hosted in the beach city.

“To promote film shooting in the tourism state, we are giving single window clearance for enhancing film shooting in the state,” stated Sawant and congratulated the Prime Minister for showing the world that the nation is capable of vaccinating hundreds of crores of people at a fast pace.

The secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Apurva Chandra also spoke on the occasion, saying “IFFI is the largest and best film festival of the country with a rich legacy of more than 50 years. It is a celebration of good films from India and all across the world at one location in a festival of nine days.”
