MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant descended on Nuvem to partake in the birthday celebrations of party MLA Wilfred D’Sa and launch a slew of projects in the constituency, indicating the importance the Chief Minister has accorded to the former Congress MLA.
The Chief Minister, however, left it to the Nuvem MLA to take a call, whether to contest the coming polls on the BJP banner. He sought to wriggle himself out by saying that he does not decide on tickets, saying those who want to contest the election on the party banner should approach the state President Sadanand Tanavade and national president J P Nadda.
After inaugurating traffic signals at the Activa Honda showroom junction, the CM reassured the MLA that no project will remain incomplete, assuring that all these will be completed or get underway before December 18.
“Wilfred had joined the BJP with a purpose in mind to usher development in Nuvem. My government will ensure that the objective is fulfilled before the elections,” he said.
He added: “It is purely for Wilfred to decide whether to contest on the BJP banner or not. If he has a wish he can approach Amit Shah who is visiting the state tomorrow or our national president J P Nadda, who is arriving later this week.”
