CM says will look into case

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has assured the beleaguered parents of Maddona school that he would like to go into the merits of the school case before offering his comments.

MARGAO: 

When the parents conveyed their grievances to the Chief Minister during his visit to the Ravindra Bhavan here this morning, Parsekar said he has not gone into the merits or demerits of the case.  
He, however, said that a situation may arise if the structure is illegal and weak, while seeking to know as to who will take the onus of responsibility if something happens.   
“When buildings are constructed for the children, all formalities should be complete. There should be engineers and architects engaged while constructing the building. I do not know what exactly is the case concerning the school,” he said, while assuring that there ought to be no problem for the parents and the students studying in the school.

Fatorda parents raise concern over order to close school

Beleaguered parents and the administrator of Maddona school at Fatorda on Tuesday expressed concern over the fate of the students in the middle of the academic year if the government authorities seal the premises as per the order of the South Goa Additional Collector.
