The parents further demanded a stop to the mental harassment meted out to them and the kids, while demanding alternate arrangements for the students if the building goes for demolition.
Addressing the media, school headmistress Greta Coutinho and Administrator Farika Pereira said the very future of 150 students studying in the school is at stake if the school premises is sealed in the middle of the academic year. “I am responsible for each and every child. We have learnt from the media that the Additional Collector has ordered sealing of the school premises. We do not know the future of the children,” she said.
Though the authorities have told the management to stop the admissions in 2013, admissions continued till now, as the school management had been knocking on the doors of all the authorities, including the Chief Minister, the local MLA, the Education Director and District Collector.
“We have been asking for an alternate premises or a plot, but nothing has been done so far,” Coutinho said.
The parents contended that they and the wards have to undergo trauma with news of the school building going for demolition or sealing reported in the media every now and then. “Why are the authorities going to the media with reports of demolition or sealing? “ they questioned.
