Recalling former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s close rapport with the people of Salcete, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday sought the cooperation and blessing of Saxttikars to him and his government to take the state forward.
He took the platform at the inauguration of the indoor stadium at Navelim which has been named after Manohar Parrikar to reassure the people of Goa that his government does not believe in discrimination against any community or groups.
“Manohar Parrikar was very close to the people of Salcete. It was at his instance that the indoor stadium was sanctioned in Navelim. Today, we are happy to name the indoor stadium after the former Chief Minister,” he said, adding that the people of
Goa, including Hindus, Christians and Muslims enjoy good relations.
He said the government is committed to bring all-round development of the state, right from Pernem to Canacona, adding that two major infrastructural projects, including the Mopa International airport and the Zuari bridge will be inaugurated by 2022.
“I take this opportunity to seek the cooperation and blessings of the people of Salcete to take the state forward,” he said. The CM showered praises on Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao for extending his support to the government and thanked Navelim MLA Luizinho
Faleiro for attending the inauguration.
