CM urged to probe water tankers being used to transport sewage

PANAJI

The Congress in Goa on Friday knocked the doors of CM Pramod Sawant to demand a high-level inquiry into the ‘dangerous’ trend of tankers used to supply water in the State also being used to transport sewage, which it has been raising over the last few weeks after a case had been booked in Sancoale.

A Congress delegation led by GPCC president, Amit Patkar, and which included Quepem MLA, Altone D’Costa among others, met Sawant at his official Altinho residence and discussed with him this and other crucial citizen-centric matters including readying the sewerage and road network of the capital city before the onset of monsoons.

A statement issued by the Congress media cell head Amarnath Panjikar said, the Chief Minister assured them of looking into the issues raised.

Panjikar statement quoted Patkar as saying that the Congress was concerned about public health after the Water Tanker carrying sewage was intercepted by alert citizens at Sancoale.
