Margao Municipal Chief Officer, Rohit Kadam, who came rushing to Margao from Belagavi after hearing the news of the garbage crisis plaguing the city, pointed out that he is cleaning the sins committed by someone in the past.
The Chief Officer was making an obvious reference to the tender file pertaining to the Sonsodo road construction amounting to Rs 40 lakh, that had gone missing from the civic body just before the work order could be issued to the successful bidder.
He told Margao Municipal councillor Camilo Barretto that though the Municipality had tendered the Sonsodo road construction, work on the road would not commence just because the file went missing before issuing the work order.
The Chief Officer was personally supervising the operations at Sonsodo, in coordination with the Municipal engineer Manoj Arsekar and officials to put in place a temporary katcha road at Sonsodo.
