Aam Admi Party Goa on Saturday stated that Goans have been taken for a ride by a weak coalition government which is falling apart over the issue of mining.
AAP insisted that the admission by a BJP MLA that there was no governance in the state was indicative of the growing restlessness within the coalition government.
AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes said that desperation has set in among MLA s after the Supreme Court verdict in the mining matter setting aside the renewal of 88 leases.
“As a result of this, they had led an unsuccessful all party delegation to the Center. Now they are calling upon central ministers to come to Goa to help. That shows that they have no mind of their own thus exposing their incompetence in running the government. They should quit”, said Gomes.
He questioned the silence of the MLAs over the much-needed recovery of the mining loot, which has been quantified to be over Rs one lakh crore. Gomes added that besides initiating recovery of the theft.
He added government should immediately draw the accumulated amount of Rs 150 crore from the District Mineral Fund to help the mining affected people in the state.
