Colvale police on Sunday arrested three persons for committing theft of a JCB machine.
According to Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi, an FIR under Section 379 IPC was registered upon a written complaint filed by one Yamnoor Kadkal stating that unknown accused persons committed theft of his JCB machine bearing registration no. GA 01 S 6502, which was parked in an open public place at Madel Housing Board in Tivim.
Upon registration immediately Investigation was taken up and team was deployed to collect local intelligence, wherein after meticulous efforts received information from reliable sources that three persons are suspected to be involved in the commission of the above crime.
Accordingly, after technical surveillance, the said accused persons Ravi Chavan and Ravi Rathod, both residents of Sai Colony in Madel and Prakash, a resident of Auchit Waddo-Tivim, all natives of Karnataka, were nabbed.
The accused confessed their involvement in the commission of theft of the JCB machine force starting the JCB Machine by over-riding the ignition system. The accused persons have been placed under arrest and remanded to three days of police custody.
The investigation was conducted under the overall supervision of S P North Shivendu Bhushan, IPS, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, PI Colvale PS Somnath Mahajik, PSI Kunal Naik, HC Pandurang Naik, PC Sulesh Naik all of Colvale Police station and further investigation is in progress.
