This was disclosed by Thailand Consul General Ekpol Poolpipat who met Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar at the Secretariat on Thursday.

Poolpipat said the Prime Minister of Thailand would be attending the BRICS summit to be held in Goa next month and would also be meeting Parulekar at that time.

He will also meet Goa Tourism Development Corporation officials and discuss various aspects of tourism exchange between the two states. A proper plan would then be finalised.

Stating that this would help Thailand as well as Goa, Poolpipat said that initially the flight service could be once a week and depending on the response, the frequency could be increased.

Poolpipat further mentioned that Thailand Tourism would organise road shows and exhibitions in Goa and would assist GTDC in organising such programmes to promote tourism in Thailand. Welcoming the initiative of Thailand Tourism, Parulekar reiterated that the arrangement would be helpful to both sides. He also briefed Poolpipat on the various activities undertaken by GTDC in promoting tourism.
