MoS Shripad Naik stated that the recent communal disturbances are deliberate acts of some anti-social elements, which will be dealt with as days go by.
Replying to The Goan on such communal disturbances, Naik said, “These communal disturbances are deliberately committed by some anti-social elements and with the passage of time they will be dealt with.”
“Finally, where there is God there is ‘rakshash’ too,” he quipped.
However, Naik said that as politicians it is their duty to work towards the upliftment of the downtrodden irrespective of their religion, caste or creed.
On the issue of Bhoma-Corlim highway expansion project, Naik said that he has been regularly taking up the issue with the Union Ministers and has been urging for an amicable resolution to the issue without troubling the locals.
“I have also urged them to explore the option of a bypass if possible, as proposed by the locals and I will continue pursuing the matter with the Centre,” he assured but at the same time stated that it all depends on the National Highway Authority and the issues faced by them.
However, Naik stated that he has got assurance that the temples will not be touched.
Further, Naik lamented that whatever that is going on now is politics wherein the MLA and the MP are being criticised with the help of the Opposition.
“The people should not do such things as we are supporting them,” he informed.
