OLD GOA
Stating that it is up to the party to decide on his candidature for the LS polls, Union Minister Shripad Naik however said that he is ever ready to contest for a sixth time if given the opportunity.
When questioned by The Goan on his readiness for the LS polls, Naik said, “I am always ready for the polls. But I cannot stake claim for the ticket as it is for the party to decide.”
“But, whatever the case I will stay with the BJP till my last breath,” he added.
Naik further thanked the people for giving him an opportunity to serve them for five terms in which he was able to bring in the development projects that were required for Goa.
Earlier, speaking at the birthday function, Naik revealed that he had offers from the Congress to contest on their ticket.
“I was approached by Congress leaders including Dr Wilfred D’Souza and Subhash Shirodkar to join them. But I refused as BJP was the party with a difference which acted against corruption and also undertook development of the people without differentiating,” he said.
