Communal tension is nothing new: Shah, CM

The BJP bigwigs went on a ‘fire-fighting’ exercise when faced with a barrage of questions on recent communal flare-ups hitting the nation.

PANAJI: rNational BJP President Amit Shah and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, while interacting with editors in the capital on Sunday said that the communal tension that is seen in recent times is nothing new and has been prevalent even during the Congress regime. r“The media has been blowing up issues beyond proportion and giving it a communal twist,” the party president said. rWhen asked if it would be appropriate for the media to go silent on such incidents, Shah said that he meant to say that such incidents should not be given communal overtones while taking it to the public.
