Complaint filed against MPT chief

Convener of the NGO ‘Goa Against Coal’ Custodio D’Souza on Saturday filed a police complaint against MPT Chairman I Jeyakumar, after accusing him of describing people who had come for the public hearings at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, as “outsiders”.

VASCO: 
In his complaint to Vasco police, D’Souza said Jeyakumar’s statements that “outsiders” were coming to Vasco and forcefully demanding the stoppage of cargo operation was objectionable and needed to be taken seriously, as Jeyakumar is holding a high post.
D’Souza stated that Jeyakumar’s statements had created tension and law and order situation during the public hearing at Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Saturday.   
Adding that the MPT chairman’s statements were false and discriminatory, D’Souza demanded that Jeyakumar be booked under Section 153 of IPC and other criminal provision of the law.   
When contacted, Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo confirmed that the police had received the complaint and said they were investigating the case.
