Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte on Tuesday inspected the Panchayat Ghar cum sports complex project at Salai in Salvador-do-Mundo Panchayat area and advised the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) officials to complete the project by September 30.
the goan I networkrPORVORIM rrThe Porvorim MLA inspected the project, which is being built in an area of 23,220 sq mtrs at Salai, along with GSIDC Managing Director Sanjit Rodrigues. rAfter inspecting the project, Khaunte advised the GSIDC officials to carry out certain modifications and complete the project within 3 months, that is latest by September 30. rSpeaking to media persons, Khaunte said the project costing Rs 22.98 crore was started in August 2015. “Major work of the project has been completed and finishing part is remaining. Besides the Panchayat Ghar, there are 13 shops in the complex. Some shops have been reserved for public utilities like bank, sub health centre and pharmacy, etc,” he said. rThere will be sports facilities like Boxing ring, Badminton court, indoor games like Table Tennis, carrom, etc, and gymnasium. Provision for restaurant and a multipurpose hall with seating capacity for 500 people has ralso been made. At the rear side of the complex, a football ground and Tennis court as per standard size are being developed. r“The main objective of this project is to make available all the facilities at one place to the residents of Salvador-do-Mundo.
