Panaji r rGPCC president Luizinho Faleiro had referred to the acquisition of these spaces during his tenure in his recent letter requesting to be relieved from the office, which was addressed to Congress national president Sonia Gandhi. rThe announcement has been formally publicised in the latest edition of Congress party newsletter ‘Congressacho Awaz’ dated July 3. rA 528.41 sq mts plush office space has been acquired by Congress on the fourth floor of Gera’s Imperium Grand at Patto Plaza in Panaji for its head office. The building is slated for completion in December 2017. This office will house offices of executive committee members and chiefs of frontal organisations, media conference room and conference hall. rSpeaking to The Goan, Congress general secretary Vijay Pai informed, “Presently, the Congress House has been located at the old rented structure on the Dayanand Bandodkar Road near the ferry point in Panaji since 1962 when Purushottam Kakodkar was the GPCC president.” rHe also disclosed that acquisition process for the 199.61 sq mts prime built-up area of South Goa district headquarters began in 2008. This office is located on the fifth floor in Building ‘A’ of the prominent Correia Pride complex, next to the South Goa administrative complex in Margao. rThe North Goa district headquarters, the acquisition process for which began in 2011, will be situated on the first floor of the building ‘Cosmos Centre’ amidst government office complex and has built up area of 181.75 sq mts.
Cong announces acquisition of 3 permanent premises
In fulfillment of a long-standing dream, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has formally announced the acquisition of three permanent office premises in Panaji, Margao and Mapusa to house the state and district headquarters.
