Cong begins campaigning in Sada
VASCO: The Congress party on Sunday kicked of its door-to-door election campaign from Ward 2 at Headland Sada, in the presence of Congress spokesperson Sankalp Amonkar, Councillors Sharda Amonkar, Murari Bandekar, Sandesh Mesta and former councillors of the ward.
Earlier, the Congress workers and Amonkar offered prayers at a temple at Headland Sada and later visited all the houses in the ward and raised serious questions over the venue selected by BJP for holding Vijay Sankalp Melava in Mormugao on December 2.
According to Amonkar, BJP leaders have identified an open space behind Sada sub-jail for the melava. “The venue falls under the restricted area, due to the existence of vital installations including the jail and oil tanks.”
Amonkar also distributed handouts stating charge sheet of BJP government which mentioned how it has failed to fulfill its 2012 poll promises.
Speaking to reporters later, Amonkar said the people are living under the fear of a local politician.
