Congress Minority Cellchairman Nazir Khan on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Mormugao mamlatdarPravinjay Pandit, alleging rude and arrogant behaviour by Block Level Officers(BLOs) towards residents during election-related duties.
During a meeting withthe mamlatdar, Khan also raised concerns over discrepancies in the electoralrolls, particularly cases where voters’ names were deleted during the SpecialIntensive Revision (SIR) process. Khan said some affected voters hadsuccessfully cleared the appeal process for restoration of their names, buttheir names had still not been added back to the electoral rolls.
Pandit said the currentadministrative portal and electoral software did not provide for the manualrestoration of deleted names at his level. He said he had written to senior officialshighlighting the technical limitation and seeking directions for there-inclusion of voters whose appeals had been allowed.
On the complaintregarding BLOs, Pandit said action would be taken against any official foundbehaving improperly with citizens and that inquiries would be initiated wherenecessary.
