Barely a day after contesting elections in Canacona constituency, Congress candidate and activist Janardhan Bhandari wasted no time in another campaign on Tuesday, this time to protest against the erratic water supply in Canacona.
Bhandari along with Goa Forward Party leader Prashant Naik, Shrishthal Sarpanch Ramu Naik, Congress Block President Prahlay Bhagat, Canacona Congress Mahila President Ursula De Costa and a few residents of Canacona confronted the PWD engineer at Chaudi Canacona.
The engineer was asked to furnish reasons and justify the irregular water supply all over the taluka in recent days.
Bhandari and Prashant Naik accused the officer for failing to adhere to proper water supply procedures especially during the last fortnight, when election campaigning was at its peak.
Bhandari claimed that during the election campaigning period and on election day, many residents reportedly complained to him that they were not getting proper water supply.
Residents from Potkem-Poinguinim, Partagal, Agas, Maxem, Loliem and Agonda also accompanied Bhandari and other leaders to the PWD office.
