Cong leaders asked to clear stand on Mhadei

OLD GOA

Taunting the Goa Congress for its duplicity on the Mhadei issue, the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has challenged the party’s leaders spearheading the Save Mhadei movement to hold agitation in Karnataka now that its party is ruling there.

Addressing reporters in Panaji on Saturday, RGP President Manoj Parab stated that the Front has two Congress leaders, Hrudaynath Shirodkar and Mahesh Mahambrey, who are leading the agitation from the front.

“Now, as the Congress has its government in Karnataka, Shirodkar and Mahambrey should take the lead in organising an agitation on Mhadei in that State and we will extend full support,” Parab informed.

He also took a jibe at the Congress for its duplicity on Mhadei as Karnataka has already allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the river diversion project.

“The Congress leaders in Goa are speaking one thing but their Karnataka counterparts are doing the exact opposite,” Parab said, while demanding that the Opposition leader Yuri Alemao should now come clear on the issue.

“You cannot have your feet on two boats,” Parab opined.
