Congress loyalist and former CCP mayor Surendra Furtado on Saturday alleged a few senior GPCC leaders had been sidelining other state leaders, badly affecting the party.
“We want party to function properly and I am speaking out because of my love for the party. Why is the party leadership sidelining its senior leaders, including me,” asked Furtado, while addressing a news conference.
He claimed that since the last 10 months, new persons have been admitted into the Congress executive party.
“These new recruits are political tourists. The Congress should have taken these people into the party earlier and should have made them work for the party for the last 2 years,” said Furtado.
Taking objection to the Congress policy to have 3-4 aspirants for each seat, Furtado said: “If one person get the ticket, will the other aspirants work for the party?”
